According to a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Rafiu Ajakaye, the victims were released on Sunday.
Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq praised the efforts that led to the safe return of the abductees.
The state government specifically attributed the successful rescue to the “hands-on approach” of President Bola Tinubu, who, the statement claimed, “personally led the efforts” to secure their freedom.
The government statement, however, did not disclose the details of how the abductees regained their freedom or whether any ransom was paid to the kidnappers.
