Tinubu Appoints First Female Director General Of Nigerian Law School

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Olugbemisola Odusote as the new Director General of the Nigerian Law School.

The announcement was made on Tuesday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, who confirmed that the appointment will take effect from January 10, 2026.

The fifty-seven years old, currently serves as the Deputy Director General and head of the Lagos campus of the institution.

She is set to succeed the outgoing Director General, Isa Chiroma, whose eight-year tenure concludes on January 9.

This appointment is historic as Odusote becomes the first woman to lead the Nigerian Law School since its establishment in 1962. Her initial term is scheduled for four years as she takes over the leadership of the nation’s premier legal training institution.
