A contingent of 41 athletes—comprising 24 women and 17 men—will represent the nation at the University of Ghana Sports Complex for the six-day event, which runs from May 12 to 17.

The delegation, flying out from Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos, features a mix of seasoned stars and emerging talents.

World record holder Tobi Amusan headlines the team in the 100m hurdles, alongside other top contenders including sprint star Favour Ashe, Rosemary Chukwuma, and shot put leader Chukwuebuka Enekwechi.

Led by AFN President Tonobok Okowa and a technical team of 10 officials, Nigeria will compete in 26 track and field events.

While the main body of the team departs today, several foreign-based athletes have already traveled directly to the host city to begin their final preparations for the continental showpiece.
