APC Senatorial Candidate Urges Opposition to Join Party After Gombe LG Poll

By Peter Jatau

GOMBE — The All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial candidate for Gombe South, Hon. (Dr.) Joseph Jerry Damara (Kauran Kaltugo), has urged candidates of other political parties in the district to dissolve their political structures and join the APC, saying the party has continued to enjoy widespread support across the zone.

Damara made the call on Saturday shortly after casting his vote in the Gombe State local government election.

Speaking with journalists, he said the conduct of voters and early indications from the election reflected the confidence the people have in the APC.

According to him, the party remains committed to delivering the dividends of democracy and improving the lives of ordinary Nigerians.

“The outcome we are seeing demonstrates the love the people have for the APC,” he said. “Our doors remain open to everyone who wishes to join us in building a better future for our communities.”

The APC senatorial candidate also encouraged eligible residents to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), stressing that active participation in the electoral process is essential to achieving development, improved security, and good governance.

He reiterated that the APC is prepared to welcome members from other political parties who are willing to align with its vision for the development of Gombe South.

The Gombe State local government election was held on Saturday across the state’s local government areas, with voters turning out to elect local council officials.
