BUA Cement boosts 211 resettled farmers hope , distributes inputs for wet season farming

BUA Cement has in line with it’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) drive, distributed assorted farm inputs to no fewer than 211 resettled farmers under various associations across its host community for this year’s wet farming season.

 

The essence is to boost their hope and yields for 2026 wer farming season .

 

Items distributed include fertilisers( NPK, Urea and Liquid fertiliser ), pesticides, insecticide, herbicides , improved seedlings ( Maize, Millet, Rice, Sorghum, Bean, Moringa, Spinach, ) among others.

 

Presenting the items to the benefitting farmers at the weekend , the Managing Director Engineer Yusuf Binji represented by the Assistant Director , Corporate Affairs Services , Engineer Sada Suleman said the support was to further deepen the company’s commitment to it’s CSR drive under ” BUA Sustainable Livelihood Restoration Programme” Project with the view to improve their yields for food security.

 

Explaining further , Director Health, Community Safety and Environment, Mr Ali Gumel said the inputs would serve as spring board double and improve their food production.

 

He commended the management of BUA Cement for extending the support to the farmers and communities in particular.

 

Gumel also thanked leaders of the host community for their cooperation and support to the company.

 

In his brief remarks, the Programme Manager , Sokoto Rural Agricultural Development Agency, Abubakar Danmaliki Muhammad appreciated BUA Cement for resourcefully partnering and engaging their services in improving the lot of farmers in the host community.

 

He explained that his agency has the conventional mandate to provide agriculture extension services through it’s Extension Agents who give training and supervision to farmers on the varieties available and how to utilise them for more yields.

 

” We have competent personnel and agents with capability”, he said.

 

Also, Mr Rabbit Maska, BUA Cement’s Agricultura Service Performance Specialist said each of the 211 farmers would receive 2 bags of fertilisers, a litre of liquid fertiliser, 2 litres of insecticides, 2 litres of herbicides
