The Chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Shehu Dikko, has reassured the Super Falcons that they will receive the cash rewards, housing allocations, and national honors promised by President Bola Tinubu following their 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) victory.

Dikko clarified that the delay in delivering the $100,000 monetary incentive, property titles, and national honors certificates is purely due to standard government administrative and budgetary processes rather than any shift in commitment.
Addressing the timeline, the NSC boss explained that relevant government agencies are actively processing the payouts, expressing optimism that disbursements could be completed before the upcoming tournament kicks off.
The assurances come as the national team intensifies preparations for the 2026 WAFCON in Morocco, seeking a record-extending 11th continental title. Reaffirming earlier statements made in December 2025 during the presentation of honors to the Super Eagles, the NSC emphasized that all financial rewards will be deposited directly into the players’ individual bank accounts once processing is finalized.
