Nigeria’s U-20 national team, the Flying Eagles, have arrived in Ivory Coast ahead of the 2026 WAFU B U-20 Championship, where they are set to begin their title defence this weekend.

The defending champions arrived in Abidjan before making a road trip to Yamoussoukro, where the squad has set up base at the Trio Corridor Hotel.
Coach Aliyu Zubairu’s team will kick off their Group B campaign against Ghana’s Black Satellites at the Lycée Scientifique on Monday.
The opening match serves as a rematch of the 2024 final in Lomé, where Nigeria secured a 2-1 victory over Ghana to claim the regional trophy.
Following the opener, the Flying Eagles will play Togo’s Sparrow Hawks on Thursday, before completing their group stage fixtures against Burkina Faso’s Young Stallions on Sunday, August 2, as they target back-to-back regional titles.
