The Nigerian national team holds 1,585.2 points, keeping them ahead of nations such as Turkey, Australia, Algeria, Canada, and Ivory Coast in the global standings.
The Super Eagles’ drop in the continental standings was driven by Egypt’s impressive run to the Round of 16 at the World Cup, where a narrow 3-2 defeat to Argentina boosted the Pharaohs into third place in Africa.
Meanwhile, Morocco remains Africa’s top-ranked nation after reaching the quarter-finals and rising to sixth globally, while Senegal holds second place on the continent.
With Denmark ranked 21st worldwide, Nigeria currently stands as the second-highest-ranked nation absent from the ongoing World Cup in North America.
