Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has revealed that his administration has not taken any new loans since assuming office, despite allocating approximately ₦6.7 billion monthly to service debts inherited from previous administrations.

Sani made the disclosure on Thursday where he addressed questions regarding his administration’s spending priorities and the recent increase in state revenues.
According to the governor, the heavy debt service burden—which is deducted directly from the state’s Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) receipts—is expected to continue until 2048.
He added that the figures can be independently verified through records at the Debt Management Office (DMO).
The governor declared his administration successful, highlighting key achievements across vital sectors, including infrastructure, agriculture, education, skills development, and regional security.
Sani maintained that his government remains focused on maximizing available resources to deliver impactful governance rather than lamenting inherited financial liabilities.
