The convicts, Abba Mustapha and 41-year-old Bukar Ibrahim, both originating from Borno State, were prosecuted by the Federal Government following their arrest by the Department of State Services (DSS).

During court proceedings, both defendants pleaded guilty to charges bordering on providing logistics assistance to insurgents and deliberately concealing vital information regarding terrorist activities from law enforcement agencies.

Delivering the judgment, Justice Ibrahim sentenced Mustapha and Ibrahim to life imprisonment on the first count of supporting a proscribed group, and 20 years’ imprisonment on the second count of concealing information.

The convictions were handed down as part of the Federal Government’s ongoing mass trials aimed at accelerating the prosecution of suspected Boko Haram and ISWAP fighters and collaborators.
