The Legislative Writers Forum has condemned in strong terms the circulation of a viral video of APC Governorship Candidate, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, Oyo State, in order to snared his candidacy.

In a press release and signed by its chairman Doctor Martin Kolede in Abuja, condemned the attitude of the opposition trying to use the circulated video in order to pin the already acceptable candidates of the APC in OYO state by the people.
He described the scenario as dumbfounding, innacurate
and a character assassination of Senator Sharafadeen Alli,
Doctor Kolede explained that, the senator is a kind hearted man who accept all kinds of people in order to assist them financially and morally, and using a viral video to attack him in the course of his benevolent is a calculated attempt by the opposition to rubbish him must be condemned in all ramifications.
Kolede said, the students from The Polytechnic, Ibadan were on a courtesy visit to Senator Alli to seek support for a student programme and to conduct an interview with him.
Due to limited seating at the venue and in the spirit of openness, Senator Alli in a spontaneous and fatherly manner offered a seat on his lap to one of the students so the interview could proceed without delay. There was nothing indecent, suggestive, or inappropriate about the interaction. It was purely paternal and done in good faith.
We condemn in strong terms the deliberate attempt by certain political actors to sexualise and politicise a harmless, fatherly gesture ahead of the elections. This is a distraction from the real issues affecting Oyo people.
We urge the public, media, and stakeholders to watch the video in its full context and to reject attempts to drag the name of a respected public servant into the mud.
The 2027 election in Oyo State should be about ideas, competence, development, and the welfare of our people not about manufactured scandals, innuendos, cheap blackmail and calumny.
