The Action Alliance (AA) has officially denied filing any lawsuit against the Nigeria Police Force and the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Seyi Egbetokun.
This statement comes in response to claims made by Mr. Kenneth Obidiche Udeze, who alleged that the Police are intimidating him.
In a statement issued by the party’s national chairman, Aare Adekunle Rufai Omoaje, the AA stressed the importance of investigating Udeze and ensuring he produces one Chief Uzewuru Nwachukwu, who previously filed a suit on behalf of the party.
Omoaje highlighted that the party does not have any records of Chief Nwachukwu, underscoring the necessity for the police to locate this individual.
The statement reads: “The attention of the authentic leadership of the Action Alliance under the National Chairmanship of Aare Adekunle Rufai Omoaje has been drawn to misleading reports claiming that the Action Alliance has filed a lawsuit at the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court against the Inspector General of Police, the Nigeria Police Force, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and others, over alleged interference in the party’s internal affairs.
“We categorically state that Action Alliance did not file such a suit, and we distance the party from the baseless claims circulated by Mr. Kenneth Udeze, a former member who was lawfully expelled from the party by the National Convention. This expulsion has been upheld by competent courts, including the Supreme Court.
“The case FCT/HC/CV/2741/25, allegedly filed on July 17, 2025, does not represent the position, interests, or instructions of the authentic leadership of the Action Alliance. Should this suit be genuine, it reflects a personal and fraudulent action by Mr. Udeze and his associates, who are no longer recognized as party members.
“The public is hereby informed that Chief Kenneth Udeze is being invited for questioning regarding alleged fraud, which he has yet to honor.
This matter is unrelated to any alleged interference by the Nigerian Police in the internal affairs of Action Alliance. The Police, as empowered by the Police Act, have the authority to invite and investigate individuals suspected of committing criminal offenses. Courts have consistently held that an invitation from the Police does not violate a citizen’s constitutional rights.
“We wish to clarify to the general public that Udeze and Mr. Vernimbe James do not speak for Action Alliance and lack the mandate or legal authority to act on the party’s behalf.
Their ongoing impersonation constitutes a clear contempt of valid court judgments, and we urge all stakeholders to disregard their misleading publications and illegal actions.
“The leadership of Action Alliance remains committed to democratic principles, the rule of law, and internal discipline. We will not be drawn into baseless propaganda by individuals whose political relevance has long diminished.
“We encourage the media to exercise due diligence before publishing unverified claims and to refer to court rulings and INEC’s official records, which recognize Aare Adekunle Rufai Omoaje as the legitimate National Chairman of Action Alliance,” the statement concluded.
Additionally, Omoaje affirmed that he has not petitioned the Nigeria Police Force regarding any party matters in recent times. However, he emphasized that Udeze’s conduct poses a potential threat to democracy and national security, warranting the need for him to produce Nwachukwu.
