Her arrest on Saturday evening followed a series of social media posts in which she “called out” a prominent Lagos-based pastor, Chris Okafor. Ogala had alleged that the clergyman deceived her with a promise of marriage, among other claims, leading to a legal petition and her subsequent pickup by authorities.

The actress’s detention sparked a wave of reactions across social media, with high-profile figures such as activist Omoyele Sowore and social critic VeryDarkMan (VDM) leading the calls for her release.

Shortly after regaining her freedom on Monday afternoon, Ogala took to Instagram to celebrate, specifically thanking Sowore and VDM for their intervention and support during the ordeal.
