First batch of 100 trainees on Advance Rice Techniques training for Cross River graduated today in Abuja with a strong charge by Governor Ben Ayade to them to use the advance technique knowledge acquired from the integrated rice training to enhance not just themselves but to ensure a complete agricultural revolution of the state and country.
The Cross River Governor who was represented at graduation ceremony by the special Adviser, Non-Govermental Organizations (NGOs) and Coordinator Rice Development project, Mr. Emmanuel Anoh, disclosed that the training which is a brainchild of his agricultural revolutionary agenda is aimed at making Cross River State a complete Nigerian agriculture hub especially in modern rice
cultivation and boosting
export and self reliance
in this sector.
To this end, boost his agricultural revolution agenda geared toward making cross river the hub of rice production in the country.
Ayade noted that he is committed towards making several Cross Riverians millionaires through agriculture, maintaining that the training was necessary as it would ensure the beneficiaries become
agents of change, and commended the trainees for putting their all to acquire the advance
skills in rice cultivation,
and the trainers, CSS of Israel for the knowledge imparted to the trainees.
In his speech at the
occasion, Dr Kennedy Opara,the chairman of CSS global group, facilitators of the training commended Governor Ayade for keying into their vision of transforming agriculture in the country.
He hailed Ayade for his developmental agenda and maintained that Nigeria needs leaders like him to move the country forward.
In a Church service in the CSS Gospel Church, this morning the trainees praised God for His mercies and commended Gov Ayade for giving them the ample opportunity to improve their farming skills and enterprise, stressing that “indeed Ayade is a working governor”.
The excited trainees praised Ayade and assured him that through the training they would contribute their quota to the state’s development. Each of them was presented with a mini Pad courtesy of the Governor and their certificate.
Mrs Justina Ulafor, best graduating student farmer from the integrated rice training in Abuja, thanked Governor Ayade for giving women the opportunity to excel and assure him that because of his strong support for women in Cross River state,women will drive the process of his reelections in 2019.
In the same vein, as the the first batch of the training being anchored by an Israeli firm passed out today, training for the second batch of 100 trainees from Cross River State is equally ongoing in Abuja.
The second batch trainees are excited and happy with Governor Ben Ayade for giving them the opportunity to be modern and better farmers, and expressed happiness that the training will improve their farming skills and equip them to embrace modern technology.
The excited trainees were full of praise for Governor Ayade,who they described as fully digital in all ramifications, stressing that Ayade has transformed them and has by this training empower them for greater challenges ahead.
A total of 1000 rice farmers from the state are expected to participate in the training, with 100 passes out and 100 currently on training, 800 are waiting for their turn.
