Leah Sharibu has reportedly called on President Muhammadu Buhari to rescue her from Boko Haram captivity.
Sharibu is the only Christian among the abducted 119 students of Government Girls Secondary School, Dapchi, Yobe state.
The Cable reports that it exclusively obtained Sharibu’s latest picture as well as the audio of her plea to Buhari.
We gather that in the audio tape, the girl, who has been held in captivity for seven months, appealed that her family members be assisted.
She reportedly said in the audio: “I am Leah Sharibu, the girl that was abducted in GGSS Dapchi. I am calling on the government and people of goodwill to intervene to get me out of my current situation.
“I also plead to the members of the public to help my mother, my father, my younger brother and relatives. Kindly help me out of my predicament.
I am begging you to treat me with compassion, I am calling on the government, particularly, the president to pity me and get me out of this serious situation. Thank you.”
Recall that the Nigerian Army had assured that there were ongoing military operations to rescue her.
The army’s deputy chief of policy and plans, Major General Attahiru Ibrahim, who stated this on Wednesday, May 30, said that the operations also included rescue of the Chibok girls.
