…As PERL and CLEAP Organize Support Technical Session On Strengthening Citizens Participation In The Audit Process With Stakeholders
Badamasi Musa, Director Planning, in the Kaduna state Planning and Budget Commission say the smooth relationship between the government and the Civil Society is a product of continues advocacy, openness and trust.
Badamasi, made the comment when delivering a paper on ‘Public Financial Management (PFM) and Development Planning: Enablers for Increase Citizens’ Participation/Interactive Session’ at a 2 Day ‘Support Technical Session On Strengthening Citizens Participation In The Audit Process With The Public Account Committees (PAC), Office Of The Auditor General Of The State And LGAs’ in Zaria organized by Partnership To Engage Reform and Learn (PERL) in collaboration with CS-Legislature Engagement & Accountability Platform (CLEAP).
The Director Planning, in Commission said when the Civil Society apply for information, by writing, through the proper channel, they are bound to honour the request. He reemphasized that the Civil Society and the Commission are partners in progress.
He said the Legislature need to properly have an understating of Public Financial Management (PFM) and Development Planning to effectively play their roles the budgeting process.
Responding to the need for synergy amongst the stakeholder, Honourable Usman D. Stingo, the Vice Chairman of Public Account Committees (PAC) in the Kaduna State House of Assembly said the presence of the immediate past chairman of the PAC, Hon (Dcn) Tanko Samuel Ubankato at the event will create a platform for knowledge sharing for members of the Legislature.
The current Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee, Hon Kambai Samuel Kozah in his goodwill message thanked PERL and CLEAP for this Technical Session to strengthen the capacities of the participants in the Audit Process.
Also present at the 2 Day activity was Hon Mohamed Nasir Idris, representing Sabon Gari Constituency in Kaduna State House Of Assembly alongside other participant that cuts across the Civil Society, Civil Service, Academia and Media.
