Court refuses Anselm Ojezua’s bid to stop Imuze, Okah as Edo APC Chairman, secretary

…Ojezua risks arrest at APC NEC weekend

By John Mayaki

A Federal High Court sitting in Benin City has refused to hear the Motion Ex Parte filed by the suspended Chairman of APC in Edo State, Barr Aslem Ojeizua and two others praying for an order to restrain Col. Imuze and Lawrence Okah from acting as Chairman and Secretary of APC in Edo State.

This development came on the back of Anselm Ojezua’s stubborn refusal to accept his removal and suspension after he brought the party in the state into disrepute with serial acts of corruption, divisiveness and promotion of collective ignorance and foolishness which came to a head when he colluded with allies of Obaseki and announced the sham suspension of the National Chairman.

He was immediately removed as the Party Chairman by officials of the party in line with party guidelines and constitution, with Colonel David Imuse [Rtd] chosen as his replacement. The court has upheld this.

Under the watch of Anselm Ojezua, the APC in Edo State has splintered into different groups and factions, with the former chairman, driven by greed and selfishness, unable to enforce the law and restore leadership. Despite the several acts of anti-party by Governor Godwin Obaseki and his consistent disregard for the leadership of the party, Anselm Ojezua shamelessly took his back in exchange for illegal contracts and monetary rewards.

One of such case is the renovation of schools in Ikpoba Okha Local Government awarded to Anselm Ojezua by Godwin Obaseki as a reward for his complete lack of leadership and disgraceful surrender of his office. Anselm Ojezua failed to carry out the renovation exercise, diverted the sum and the governor turned a blind eye.

As opposed to encouraging unity and peaceful resolution of conflicts premised on fair hearing and justice, Anselm Ojezua stoked the fire of division and encouraged the governors and his allies to dismiss party rules whilst unleashing violence on members of the party who courageously demanded the right thing to be done.

These egregious crimes and acts of incompetence propelled members of the party to strip Anselm Ojezua of the Chairmanship of the party and suspend him from participating in party activities.

Anselm Ojesua is not expected to be at the APC NEC that will hold in Abuja on Friday, otherwise, he risks being arrested by the Police for impersonation.
