IN its effort to complement measures at furthering the course of stopping the spread of the deadly pandemic of Coronavirus disease code named COVID-19, Sokoto state command of the NSCDC has deployed 250 of its crisis management personnel to work along the NCDC and humanitarian task force.
The decision by the state NSCDC office was informed by the urgent and quick response need to jointly work to ensure surveillance , enforcement and rapid response across the 23 councils against Covid-19 spread.
A statement Friday by the command PRO, Hamza Adamu Illela said the swift measure was in line with directive of the Commandant General to reduce the spread of the global pandemic.
” A total of 9, 500 will be deployed nationwide from its Crisis Management Department comprising Disaster and Medical units with 250 personnel by each state command”, he command explained.
Meanwhile, the statement said the state Commandant, Umar Musa Bala reminded all and sundry to heed to relevant advice and directives by the Federal Ministry of Health and the Sokoto State Government task force accordingly.
These, he noted would further demonstrate support to the measures taken against the spread of the scourge especially with regards social distancing, washing of hands with soap and water or use of hand sanitizers
