The Police in Sokoto has said that the level of compliance to the border closure directive is commendable.
The disclosure came Wednesday from the State Commissioner of Police, Mr Ibrahim Sani Ka’oje who paid visit to exit and entry border points of the state for on the spot assessment on compliance.
The closure points visited by Ka’oje were those linking the state with the South and Western parts of the country at Kajiji,Alisa. Tambuwal and Sanyinna respectively.
Ka’oje who described the situation and level of compliance as appreciable was also in company of heads and officials of DSS, NIS, NCS, NAF 119 Composite Commander , FRSC and the Police Tactical Squad officials accordingly .
Meanwhile , Ka’oje had earlier flagged off a sensitization/awareness campaign and temperature checks at the State Police Headquarters where he urged Area Commands and Divisions to follow suit in order to avert the outbreak of Covid-19 in the State.
” HODs/DPOs and Area Commanders are enjoined to carryout same at their at their respective places”, he stressed.
However, in tune with the IGP’s directive, the Command Medical Officer, CSP Hamza Ali and his staff had embarked on temperature checks on Officers and Men at the State Command Headquarters as preventive measures against Coronavirus (Covid-19).
Against this backdrop, hand sanitizers were also placed strategically for use by Officers, Men and members of the public
