No fewer than 22, 932 students are billed for graduation with 167 expected to receive first class at a combine convocation at the Usman Danfodiyo University, Sokoto next Saturday , April 20th , 2024.
Accordingly, the University would award honorary doctorate degrees to some notable Nigerians and Professor emeritus to some lecturers for distinction in their various fields and endeavours.
Vice chancellor of the University, Prof Lawal Suleiman Bilbis disclosed at a pre convocation briefing on Monday.
He said that the ceremony is planned for the 38th, 39th, 40th and 41st combine convocation holding on Saturday 20th of April 2024.
A pre-convocation lecture to be delivered by the National security Adviser Malam Nuhu Ribadu is part of the activities slated for the event.
Bilbis said Ribadu would speak on “Navigating The Maze: Addressing Multi-Dimensional Insecurity Challenges in Northern Nigeria.
He explained that 18,227 out of the 22,932 student that graduated within the period under review would receive Bachelor degrees and 427 will be awarded Diplomas and Certificates as 4,288 students receive certificates of higher degrees and postgraduate diplomas respectively.
Similarly, the Vice Chancellor disclosed that 3,486 bagged second class upper while 9,573 and 15 students graduated with second class Lower and pass degrees among others.
Meanwhile, Bilbis said all the courses had been fully accredited.
