Morale of secondary schools in Kebbe and Tambuwal local governments of Sokoto state got boosted recently following donation of 48 sets of computers, laptops and accessories by Hon. Abdulsamad Dasuki, member representing Kebbe/Tambuwal Federal constituency in the House of Representatives.
Similar gesture of 50 laptops donated by the lawmaker had earlier been extended to University students from his constituency.
Dasuki while presenting the items to beneficiaries in Tambuwal local government area, said the gesture was part of his contribution towards improving standards and to encourage the use of modern technology in learning across schools in his constituency.
According to him, the gesture would further support the effective implementation of the state of emergency declared on the education sector by the state government.
The lawmaker stated that the initiative was also tailored at supporting students in the area to acquire knowledge on and use of ICT as tool to fast track the advantage of a knowledge driven economy as well personal skills development.
” So, we are doing everything humanly possible for secondary schools in Kebbe and Tambuwal local governments are conversant and acquainted with the ICT. It is now the vogue globally and we are not going to be exempted”, he lawmaker stated.
Similarly, Dasuki announced his plans to engage youths in the area into profitable commercial farming activities, assuring that he would provide the necessary financial support.
According to him” it is a critical venture as farming remains a major occupation with reliability as a source of income that would change the socio-economic state of our people.”
This has added to the construction of 11 boreholes across communities within his constituency.
However, Dasuki commended Governor Tambuwal for his uncompromising commitment to better the lives of people of Sokoto state while assuring of his untiring and un-relented efforts at providing quality representation at the National Assembly.
In his brief remark, the council Chairman, Abubakar Zaki commended the lawmaker for the positive gestures to people of his constituency.
