– Over 25,000 Household Receive Food, Other Items
Borno State Governor Babagana Umara Zulum disclosed this today when he went for assessment and inspection tour of Dikwa town.
The Governor explained that the Dikwa — Ngala road project would be funded by Alh Aliko Dangote alongside Bama — Banki Road, all linking to the Republic of Cameroon.
According to a press release signed by the the Governor’s Special Assistant on New Media, Abdurrahman Ahmed Bundi disclosed that on his way, the Governor also Inspected the ongoing construction of 300 housing unit in Ajiri Mafa
Other activities performed by the Governor includes, the assessment of a proposed site for the construction of 300 housing units in Koyobe village of Dikwa local government.
Among the series of activities in Dikwa, Prof Zulum also inspected Borno State Government Dry Season Farm site (Firgi) where 1000 farmers are engaged in sorghum and rice farming.
Furthermore, the governor inspected former Dikwa Resort which he directed during his earlier visit to be converted into a skill acquisition center. The rehabilitation work is now at 95% completion stage. Gov.
“On his second day in Dikwa not fewer than 25,000 residents whose sources of livelihoods were affected by Boko Haram attacks, on Sunday, received varieties of food and non-food items from Borno Governor, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum.
“Each male household, was given bags of rice, beans, biski (a local assorted food stuff) while one wrapper and cash were given to the females,”he said
Governor Zulum while briefing journalists after completing the distribution of food items to the IDP stated that his administration would soon rehabilitate the famous T C Dikwa
.He has also directed the Ministry of Education to take over one of the mega primary schools built by Kashim Shettima administration, convert it to girls secondary school
