DPR vows to sanction erring marketers selling above pump price – Official

The Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) has vowed to ensure the enforcement of the N145 approved pump price of Premium Motor Spirit(PMS).
” We will keep monitoring how filling stations dispense fuel to their customers and sanction defaulters.”
It’s Sokoto Zonal Operations Controller, Alhaji Muhammed Makera said in Sokoto‎ while disclosing that there was no sealing of filling station.
Makera who spoke to newsmen in his office shortly after inspection visits to 81 filling stations across Sokoto and Kebbi states, said the Department would not relent it’s efforts at ensuring effective and efficient monitoring and supervision of activities and operations of marketers.
” We have visited 45 stations in Sokoto and 36 in Kebbi. With few exceptions found wanting and immediately complied with our regulations, almost all had fuel.
” We discovered significant improvement in supplies of the product and compliance with regulations. Out of 36 visited in Kebbi, 28 had supplies and selling at approved pump price.”
‎According to him,
“Although the fuel situation has been stabilized in Sokoto and Kebbi states and queue disappeared, the department will not relax in its campaign.”

Makera said that there was no filling station sealed in their renewed campaign as they were all complying with regulations.
