… “Your Excellency, CARRY GO”!!
We would like to appreciate the order of the President that no one from the Presidency should be associated with the APC flag-off in Edo state that took place on Saturday August 8, 2020. We hear the Vice President, Prof Osinbajo, heaved a sigh of relief when he was informed to stay away from Edo State so as not to send a wrong signal of endorsement.
In a desperate attempt to boost the sagging morale of APC supporters in the state, some APC Governors made an appearance in the palace of our Majesty but could not bring themselves to share the podium with Adams Oshiomhole and their legally challenged and compromised candidate. Gov El Rufai of Kaduna State, Gov Sanwo-olu of Lagos State amongst others returned to the airport from the palace. Even their Lion of Bourdillon didn’t find it worthy to attend!
In a lackluster event that held in the University of Benin Sports Complex, the only memory is the inconvenience caused residents and other road users as the unruly APC Lions and Tigers were let loose to roam the streets in company of some of our northern brothers ferried to Benin City in buses from Kano and Yobe States after it became clear that Edo people will shun the rally just like President Buhari, VP Osinbanjo, APC governors and other APC leaders had done.
There were no quotable quotes in an event that took them several weeks to organize and several trips of kneeling down to beg Mr President to partake in the ritual of handing over the flag to its candidate. It was colorless and held in total breach of the covid-19 protocol in their desperation to create a perception of “we have the people!”.
Edo state is at a cross road. We are approaching a governorship election that will determine who leads us as a people. The choice is between incompetence, oppression, deception, arrogance, treachery, corruption, cluelessness, lack of capacity and FREEDOM!
When people are free to choose, they choose freedom.
The UMBRELLA offers freedom! Governor Obaseki represents that Freedom!!
At this point, APC should acknowledge that Governor Obaseki has displayed an unalloyed dedication, commitment and provided relentless service for the development and growth of Edo State.
They must by now know that there is nothing simple about governance talk less of campaigning to govern people so clever, so sophisticated and desirous of freedom from touts, godfathers and pretenders!
It’s not too late, neither is it too early for Pastor Ize-Iyamu to place that call to Governor Obaseki, and say, “Your Excellency, CARRY GO”!!
We are Resetting Edo for a Better and Brighter Tomorrow!
