Ovia South-West LGA, Edo State – In a landmark event, the Edo State Government today commissioned the Edo State College of Agriculture and Natural Resources in Iguoriakhi, located in Ovia South-West Local Government Area. The
institution, hailed as a “historic milestone” for Edo State, is set to provide world-class agricultural training and research opportunities, particularly aimed at empowering youth.
Speaking at the commissioning, the administration highlighted the new college as a testament to Edo State’s commitment to agricultural advancement and sustainable development. The institution’s state-of-the-art facilities have the capacity to train up to 1,000 students across various specializations, marking it as a unique agricultural research hub in Nigeria. Officials emphasized that the infrastructure is unmatched, even by national standards, reflecting the state’s dedication to excellence in educational resources.
“Our focus has been on creating hope and opportunities for our people,” the administration noted, underlining that the fertile lands of Edo State have vast potential for agricultural success. “We have worked tirelessly, leveraging our resources to develop the state in a way that leaves a lasting legacy for future generations,” they added, referencing the administration’s commitment since 2016 to fundamentally transform the state.
