Eid celebration: Sokoto gov Aliyu tasks Muslim ummah on steadfastness, lessons learnt , prayer for state, nation

Sokoto state Governor Dr Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto has stressed the need for the Muslim ummah to remain steadfast in their worship of Allah and sustain the lessons learnt during the holy month of Ramadan.

He said doing so, would earn them Allah’s abundant mercies, forgiveness and blessings while urging them to offer useful advice and suggestions on how to further develop the State.

The governor’s remarks was contained in a sallah message delivered to the Muslim ummah in the state on yesterday , Wednesday in Sokoto where he also emphasised that the task of taking Sokoto State to greater heights is the responsibility of all and sundry.

Aliyu Sokoto who performed the two raka’at Eid-Fitr prayer along other faithful on the central praying ground in Sokoto also appealed to the wealthy in the state to continue to show love and mercy to the needy in order to earn Allah’s blessings.

His words: ” I am aware of the various assistance rendered by some well to do to the needy in our society and this is commendable indeed.

” On our part, the government had spent huge amount of money in assisting the needy and the vulnerable groups across the State,” he added.

He said all the gestures were in line with the various support and assistance already geared towards promoting Islamic ideals in the State and beyond.

“We will continue to support Islamic propagation in the State so as to ensure that true Islamic ideals are taught, “he added.

The governor reassured of his commitment to pilot to conclusion numerous han oriented projects and programmes in order to transform the state for the better.

The governor maintained that his government will never falter and will never waiver in diligently steering the ship of the state to the desired level of development.
