The development was confirmed on Wednesday by the Federal Ministry of Education in a statement signed by the Director of Press and Public Relations, Boriowo Folasade, and later shared by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to President Bola Tinubu.
The BEA program, which provides financial aid to Nigerians studying in partner countries, was recently discontinued, leaving several remaining beneficiaries facing severe financial hardships due to prolonged payment delays.
Addressing these challenges, the ministry announced that the Central Bank of Nigeria has successfully transferred the approved funds to the respective Nigerian embassies and foreign missions to ensure the immediate release of the stipends to eligible scholars.
