FG disburses N2.5bn agirc , SMEs loans to 5,000 beneficiaries in Sokoto

The Federal Government on Thursday said it has distributed  worth N2.5 billion loan to 5,000 beneficiaries in Sokoto state under its agriculture business, small and medium enterprises investment scheme.  

The exercise which was coordinated and conducted in collaboration with the Senatorial office of Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko Drew beneficiaries from across all the 23 local government areas of the state.
Senator Wamakko who represents Sokoto North  Senatorial District personally sponsored the registration of lucky beneficiaries which included processes as applicants online registration, business plan , EDI training among others.
However, the exercise according to a statement issued to reporters in Sokoto through the Senator’s constituency office said the exercise was strictly under watch and monitoring to ensure it abides by the  NCDC Covid-19 pandemic regulations to avoid the spread of the novel pandemic.
Speaking, Senator Aliyu Wamakko the scheme among other vibrant steps was geared towards stemming industrial revolution, encouraging economic transformation and sustained growth of business.
Accordingly, Wamakko  explained that it was cardinal to the federal government’s drive to revolutionise the nation’s economy with emphasis to agriculture and other businesses through such strategic and responsive approach.
” To this end, each beneficiary will get N500,000 to N10 million. We have provided working equipment ( input/tools) that covered 9 areas of businesses for beneficiaries”, he said.
The statement said that  Dr. Abdullahi Gada, Legislative Aid to  Senator Wamakko made the presentation of the equipments to beneficiaries as they variously and simultaneously acknowledged on the spot  receipt of working capital through their individual bank accounts.
In the same vein, Wamakko in the statement told he beneficiaries to throw their weight of support behind the federal government to ensure the success of its policies and programmes geared towards making life better for Nigerians.
He said President  Muhammadu  Buhari has good intention for the people of Sokoto people disclosing that  a number of programs and under various schemes were ongoing in the  state under the current political dispensation. 
A cross section of the beneficiaries who spoke at the venue of he exercise hailed the effort and commitment of Senator  Wamakko describing him as true leader who shares the feeling and aspirations of people of Sokoto state. 
In attendance at the event were representatives of Central Bank of Nigeria and NIRSAL micro-finance bank who also ensured strict compliance with the rules and regulations of the AGSMIES loan scheme, applauding  the effort and co-operation of the law maker.
