The head office of the Kaduna State Independent Electoral Commission (KADSIECOM) was gutted by fire on Saturday, 21 April, 2018, at about 10am.
This unfortunate incident is coming just 3 wwwks to the state’s local government election scheduled to hold May 12, 2018.
Eyeswitnesses accounts reveal that, the fire started around 10am but took fire fighters hours to arrived the scene despite its proximity to the fire brigade and the Kaduna state government house that has fire fighting department located withing its premises.
Men of joint security operatives were seen on ground controlling the crowd that converged at the structure located on Sokoto Road in Kaduna metropolis.
A source within hinted that, some top shots of KADSIECOM were having a meeting when the fire started and eventually distrusted the meeting.
Officials said details othe cause and effects of the fire outbreak would be communicated to newsmen after investigations have been carried out.
