Former Deputy Governor of Ekiti State,Prof Kolapo Olusola (ELEKA) on Thursday offered his condolences to the victims of shootings in the Federal University of Oye Ekiti
The sad occurrence which led to the killings of some students of Federal University Oye Ekiti and leaving many to injuries by security details attached to Chief (Mrs.) Bisi Fayemi, wife of Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi.
Dada Kehinde Abiodun, a part one student of the Department of Crop Science and Horticulture and another were shot dead during protest on Tuesday by security personnel’ in the convoy of Mrs. Bisi Fayemi.
However,It should be recall that During our administration, Ekiti State University (EKSU) students protested over imposition of N10,000 late registration fee and we never ordered policemen to shoot the students. Instead, we allowed them to come to the Governor’s Office where we addressed the protesting students and calmed them down.”
“We must live in a society where human lives means something to us,rather than being comfortable celebrating barbarism and lavishing public funds on fruitless purposes “he said.
My heart and prayers are with the students and families of the victims , including the people of our entire State at this moment
