His longtime music director, Bruno Miranda, confirmed the news via an official statement, describing the 81-year-old icon as a faithful servant who prioritized leading people into the “presence of the King” over mere entertainment.
From his breakthrough in the early 1990s with Integrity Music to his massive influence on international stages like Nigeria’s The Experience, Kenoly’s ministry bridged generational and cultural gaps through high-octane praise and deep theological worship.
Beyond his chart-topping hits such as “Ancient of Days,” “Lift Him Up,” and “Mourning into Dancing,” Kenoly leaves behind a legacy of mentorship, having trained thousands of worship leaders worldwide.
Tributes from global ministers, including Nathaniel Bassey, have flooded social media, celebrating a man who transitioned from a U.S. Air Force veteran to a pioneer of the contemporary worship genre.
While funeral arrangements are yet to be announced by his family, his death marks the end of an era for a trailblazer whose soulful voice and impeccable showmanship defined the soundtrack of modern congregational worship for over three decades.
