The executive chairman Jema’a Local Government area Hon Peter Danjuma Averik has made the winners’ list of the Nigeria Local Government Chairmen Merit Award (LOGMA) 2020.
This was communicated to the Chairman through a letter dated October 13th, 2020 and signed by the Editor-in-chief/ Project Coordinator, Prince Bayode Ojo.
According to the letter, Hon Averik was found worthy of the award because he has “demonstrated responsible and accountable political leadership that has made positive impact on the lives of the people” in Jema’a Local Government area.
The letter further stated that Hon Averik’s outstanding achievements especially in the areas of security and peace building ,coupled with his prudent financial management are among other virtues that are standing him shoulder high among his contemporaries.
It would be recalled that LOGMA had published the name of Hon Peter Danjuma Averik and four other nominees in the state as well as others across the federation on page 4 of Sun Newspapers of September 29th, 2020 and requested people to vote for their preferred candidates while at same time indicating areas of achievements.
As a local government, Hon Averik’s emergence as winner of LOGMA award 2020 did not come to us as a surprise considering the envious developmental strides recorded within his two years in office despite the dwindling financial fortunes of the local government.
We are indebted with goodwill and support of the people of Jema’a Local Government ànd Averik’s supporters across the state, particularly those who participated during the voting process to ensure our Chairman emerges winner.
