KADUNA 2019: A REFERENDUM BETWEEN GOOD AND BAD – WUSONO

A chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Kaduna State Salisu Tanko Wusono has opined that the 2019 governorship election in Kaduna state will be akin to a political Referendum between the Good and the Bad in the state.

Salisu Tanko Wusono who is also the Acting Publicity Secretary of the ruling party in Kaduna state stated this while speaking to Newsmen in his office in Kaduna.
He said the 2019 governorship election in Kaduna state will afford the entire electorates across the constituting twenty three local government areas in the state the opportunity to elect and choose between the continuation of the good leadership of Mallam Nasiru El-Rufai and a return to the era of bad leadership when stealing and corruption were ways of life of past political leaders.
He went on: “Gentlemen of the press, a lot have been said about the 2019 governorship election in Kaduna state with many postulations and permutations all over the air and I think it is important for me to use this opportunity to inform you our dear friends in the media and the world at large that the election will be like a referendum to choose between a good leadership or a bad leadership where the choice of the electorates will either make or mar the future of Kaduna state.
“I am compelled to say this because I have noticed just like most political observers that the looters of yesterday and those whose intention is to loot but were denied access to the Commonwealth of Kaduna state by the present leadership of Mallam Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai are busy plotting a gang up against the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the state as 2019 approaches.
“My brothers and sisters in the media, I want to assure you that their plans will fail because the people of the state have come to realize that all opposition against the Mallam Nasir Ahmed El-Rufai`s administration are all products of self aggrandizement which are driven by pecuniary reasons.”
The APC stalwart who was a Councilor in Igabi Local Government Area on the platform of the defunct All Nigeria Peoples Party between 1999 and 2002 assured that the masses of the state will never allow a return to the days where the resources of the state were only shared by a few people and their cronies adding that the legacy projects and policies of the Mallam Nasiru El-Rufai have rekindled hope in the citizenry and are pointers that Kaduna state is on the way to greater height.
On the purported crisis in the Kaduna state chapter of the APC, Salisu Tanko Wusono dismissed the claims of factionalization in the state because according to him “there is only one and only APC leadership in the state as recognized by all statutory bodies of the party and Independent National Electoral Commission as well as the Kaduna State Independent Electoral Commission and that is the one that is led by Alhaji Shuiabu Idris and Alhaji Yahaya Baba Pate as Chairman and Secretary respectively.”
On the assertion by the Deputy Senate President Senator Ike Ikweremmadu that there could be likelihood of a military take over because of some intra- party wrangling in some states, Salisu Tanko Wusono who was also a former Administrative Secretary of the defunct All Nigeria Peoples Party, North –west Zone, condemned the postulation of Sen Ekweremmadu and called for his immediate arrest by necessary security agencies because his advice is sarcastic in nature and could open a door for a plethora of calls for military take-over.
Salisu Tanko Wusono who urged Nigerians to ignore senator Ekweremmadu and his cohorts said he was not surprised by the position of the PDP Chieftain because the Peoples Democratic Party is more or less an appendage of the Military.
