A civil society coalition known as Kaduna Voices United has announced plans to stage mass protests across Kaduna State to demand the continued detention of former Governor Nasir El-Rufai.

The group is seeking an extension of current investigations into his administration to include alleged human rights violations, extrajudicial killings, and the suppression of dissent during his eight-year tenure.
According to the coalition, the demonstrations aim to ensure high-level accountability for what they describe as a persistent disregard for judicial authority and the rights of citizens.
The planned protests are expected to converge in the state capital as the group intensifies its call for justice regarding the former governor’s time in office.
