… as PERL and CLEAP facilitate multi-stakeholders’ technical session for the performance audit process towards effective social accountability.
A Kaduna state Assembly member and chairman of the Public Account Committee at the Kaduna state House of Assembly Honorable Mugu Yusufu, representing Kaura Constituency, has recommended an advanced Educational Qualification for Members of the Legislators both at the State and Federal levels.

He gave this recommendation when reacting to a Presentation on ‘Understanding Social Accountability: a Tool for ensuring value for money in service delivery’ by Yusuf Ishaku Goje, a member of Civil Society Legislature Engagement and Accountability platform, CLEAP.
Honorable Mugu, who is also the Deputy Minority Whip, said there has to be a constitutional amendment for this to happen. He emphasized that the presentation was apt but that how many of the members can readily assimilate this due to low baseline knowledge of the issues under discussion.

The technical session on Strengthening Social Accountability Through Performance Audit In Kaduna State organized by Partnership To Engage Reform And Learn (PERL) in collaboration with CS- Legislature Engagement & Accountability Platform (CLEAP).
