A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, from Southern Kaduna, Senator Caleb Zagi, has dumped the ruling party.
In a letter dated January 16, 2019, he personally wrote to his ward chairman in Aribi ward, Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State, titled, ‘Resignation From The All Progressive Congress, APC’ Senator Zagi said, “After due consultations, l have decided to resign from the All Progressives Congress, APC.”
Senator Zagi added, “This is because the All Progressive Congress, APC, does not wish our people well. We gave them our full support and rallied round them at the last elections, but the party got into power and chose to run a government of the few, by the few and for the few, totally sidelining a large followership.
” The All Progressive Congress, APC, has also proven that it cannot maintain its internal democracy and so cannot be trusted with our national democracy.
“I have, therefore, come to the conclusion that, it will be selfish of me and a total disservice to our good people to continue to stand alone than to stand with the people who do not value democracy and accountability.
“For these reasons, l hereby resign from the All Progressives Congress, APC.”
