Political watchers and residents of Kaduna were pleasantly shocked by the display of support for the governorship candidate of the PDP in Kaduna.
Former Vice-President Namadi Sambo, former Governor of Kano State, Rabiu Kwankwaso, former Jigawa governor, Alhaji Sule Lamido, chairman of the PDP Board of Trustees (Bot), Senator Walid Jibrin were among dignitaries that flagged off the Kaduna Govenorhip campaign rally in the state capital on Tuesday.
Other at the well attended rally were former governors of Kaduna State, Senator Ahmed Makarfi, Alhaji Ramallan Yero and spokesman of Atiku Campaign Organization and allied of President Muhammadu Buhari, Alhaji Buba Galadinma and Senator representing Kaduna North, Senator Suleiman Hunkuyi and several other party’s stalkwarts.
Travellers had hectic time plying the Kaduna-Zaria road where the International Trade Fair Complex at Rigachikun, venue of the campaign rally is located as thousand of party’s supporters blocked the road.Speaking on the occasion, the PDP governorship candidate in the state, Alhaji Isa Ashiru said the ruling All Progressives Congress in the state had failed.
Ashiru, who spoke in Hausal language, urged the people to vote out the incumbent governor and candidate of the APC, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai at the March 2, 2019 of election in the state.
He also urged the people of the state to come out emass to vote for the party(PDP) at all levels of the polls.
The PDP candidate also said if elected, his administration would set up a committee to review the cases of 25,000 sacked teachers and other civil servants in the state by the ruling APC government in the state.
He said he would reinstate those that were unjustly sacked by the el-Rufai administration.
He called on the people to ensure that they keep the Permanent Voter Cards safely, noting that “your voters card is your power.”
He said, “Civil servants, teachers, where are you?
“We are assuring you If we are voted into power, we will set up a committee to review the sacking of all teachers and civil servants by the APC government in Kaduna state.”
Also, the National Chairman of Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP), Alhaji Buba Galadima, said the APC government symbolises hungers and urged Nigerians to kick out the party in the February and March polls.
“Nigerians have been suffering from hunger, poverty and insecurity and by the grace of God, by February 16, the hardship would be over if you vote the PDP.
“You must make sure that you vote the PDP for President, Governor and all other positions.
“You must protect your votes, come out enmass and ensure that you cast your vote no matter what,” Galadinma said.
