Stakeholders in Kaduna State’s health sector have concluded a two-day inception meeting aimed at improving transparency and performance tracking for health funding across the state.

Organized by the Lafiya Program, the workshop—which ran from September 18th to 19th—focused on establishing a customized Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) financial tracker.
The initiative seeks to align planned health operational budgets directly with the Ministry of Finance’s cash release calendars while training local advocates across the 23 Local Government Areas to conduct physical audits of health projects.
Speaking at the event, Head of Programs at the Kaduna Local Government Accountability Mechanism, Seth Luke, gave an overview of the tracking tool and why its implementation is critical at this time.
The tracker will also leverage the Open Government Partnership platform to co-create policy scorecards and convene quarterly multi-stakeholder reviews on health spending across Kaduna State.
