SENATOR Aliyu Magtakarda Wamakko on Monday joined several dignitaries in Zaria to personally condole family of the late Emir of Zazzau, Alhaji Shehu Idris.
The former Governor of Sokoto State who is also the Chairman, Senate Committee on Defence and Deputy Chairman, Senate Committee on Anti Corruption, described the death of the late Monarch as a monumental loss, not only to his family, Zazzau Emirate or Kaduna, but, to the country as a whole.
A statement by his Special Assistant on Media, Bashir Rabe Mani said the lawmaker who represents Sokoto North Senatorial District extolled the late Emir as one who made invaluable contributions to peace, unity and socioeconomic development of Zazzau Emirate, Kaduna State, North and Nigeria, in general.
Wamakko noted that the renowned Monarch, was one of the longest serving traditional rulers in the country who will continue to be remembered for his unique nature as custodian and true father of his subjects.
He prayed the Almighty Allah to grant him Aljannat Firdaus, as well as grant the family, people and government of Kaduna State, the formidable fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
