Eighty-two Campaign Committee members of Kaduna People’s Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant, Dr. Sani Bello under àegis of PDP Awareness Forum, Kaduna State and Solution 2019 (Mainan Zazzau campaign organization) stormed the liason office of the PDP governorship candidate,Honourable Isa Ashiru to express their loyalty and support after their principal dumped the party for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Dr.Sani Bello withdrew his membership of PDP due to alleged ” unending mistrust between him, the state leadership of the party and its governorship candidate, Isa Ashiru.”
But 82 out 84 members of his campaign committee said they were neither informed nor consulted them before deciding to quit PDP, .” Dr. Muhammad Sani Bello (Mainan Zazzau) did not consult with us before taking such decisions”
Speaking at the Ashiru Campaign Liason Office on Thursday , the team Leaders of the Mainan Zazzau Campaign Organization ,who spoke one after the other said Dr. Sani Bello’s decision to leave the party is personal.
The Mainan Zazzau campaign committee members ,who expressed displeasure over allegations raised against Ashiru said, ” We state without equivocation that we do not share the sentiments of Dr. Muhammad Sani Bello, and hence we will remain in the party (PDP).”
According to them ,the campaign organizations worked for the gubernatorial campaign of Dr. Muhammad Sanl Bello, Mainan Zazzau leading up to the Peoples Democratic Party Primaries ,but was surprised to read a statement where he said that “as a result of some allegations he was withdrawing his membership of the party (PDP).”
“As loyal members of PDP ,senior members of these movements, members of the Awareness Forum, State Steering Committee of the Maina Campaign, the Local Government “we do not intend to leave the party (PDP).
“We want to also state that having taken part in the campaigns leading up to the party (PDP) gubernatorial primaries that we are satisfied with the processes that led to the emergence Rt. Hon. ISAH MOHAMMED ASHIRU and so will remain loyal to him and the Party (PDP) and will work assiduously to ensure that Hon. Isah Mohammed Ashiru is elected as the Governor of Kaduna State in the February 2019 gubernatorial elections.
“We also affirm our loyalty to our Leader Distinguish Senator Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi.
While we bear no ill feelings against Dr. Muhammad Sani Bello.”
In his response , Honourable Isa Ashiru thanked them for remaining in the party and their decision to give him all the necessary support to defeat the ruling party APC.
He however said , all members of the party must remain focused ,determined and committed to work together to win the 2019 election .
” I assure you, if we are united and we ensure that all votes cast during the elections are protected ,,PDP will surely defeat APC at all levels .”
On his the allegation of certificate problem raised by Dr. Sani Bello, Ashiru said, “I don’t have problem with my certificate and anyone in doubt should go to Kufena College, Wusasa,Zaria ,Kaduna to confirm .”
While stating that PDP’s focus in the state and across Nigeria is on winning the 2019 election ,he urged the party members and electorate to protect all votes cast .
