MEET OUR PATHFINDER FOR OSUN 2018

Meet Bola Oyebamiji who is a native of Ikire in Irewole Local Government Area of State of Osun in Nigeria. Born on the 17th November, 1965; Oyebamiji is a graduate of Banking and Finance and an experienced banker of over 28 years. He is the current

Honourable Commissioner for Finance, State of Osun and Chairman, White Green Farms with subsidiaries in Onireke, Olufunmilayo, Agboora and Oosa villages among others. White Green Farms was established over 20 years ago and produces
plantain, plantain and yam flour, palm oil, palm kernel, maize and other grains in commercial quantity. Mr Oyebamiji is happily married and blessed with wonderful
children.

Young Oyebamiji started his early education at A.D.C Primary School, Oke-Ada, Ikire, in State of Osun between 1971 and 1977.

He later proceeded to Ayedaade Grammar School, Ikire between the years of 1978 to 1982 where he obtained his
Secondary School Leaving Certificate. He was exceptionally brilliant, winning several
awards in the Common Entrance and First School Leaving Certificate examinations.

His studious nature and quest for knowledge made him an outstanding student of
his set, a fact made possible by God and diligence.

As a public school student without any special after-school lessons, Oyebamiji passed his West African
Examination Council papers with ease.

In 1985 and 1988 respectively, Bola Oyebamiji obtained his Ordinary National
Diploma (OND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) in Banking and Finance from The Polytechnic, Ibadan, Oyo State.

His thirst for knowledge made him to pursue a Masters degree in Public Administration at the Lagos State University from where he graduated in 1997.

Also in 2004, Oyebamiji bagged another Masters degree in Business Administration from University of Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State.

Who is Bola Oyebamiji?
As a trained and skilled professional, he is an Associate Member, Chartered Institute
of Bankers of Nigeria since 2009 with the vision to be the global reference point for
professionalism and ethics in the Banking and Finance industry; Fellow, Institute of Chartered Economist of Nigeria since 2011, a body established out of burning desire to promote and encourage the study and development of the art and science of economics in public practice, industries, commerce etc., and to inculcate professionalism and specialization in the economics profession in Nigeria; and Fellow, Association of Enterprise Risk Management Professional since 2016, the foremost professional body for risk management practice in Nigeria, with the mandate to raise professional standards among practitioners and also creating a culture of risk awareness within organisations thereby promoting excellence in
managing risk to improve organisational performance.
Furthermore, Oyebamiji attended numerous courses both in Nigeria and abroad.

Some of which are: Effective Board Leadership at the Mortgage Banking Association of Nigeria, Lagos in 2017; Re-Inventing Osun for Growth & Sustainability – IMPC Ltd/Peter Longworth CMG – UK in 2016;
Influencing Skill course at the Pan African
University (Lagos Business School) in 2008; Currency Trading Programme 1 in New
York in 2006; Currency Trading Programme 2 – United Kingdom in 2006; Currency
Trading Programme 3 – Las Vegas in 2006, United State of America; Management Development Seminar at the Pan African University in 2006; Foreign Exchange
Management course – Euro-money in New York, U.S.A in 2004.
Others include: Relationship Management and Market Strategies Course; Money Laundering Returns Seminar; Comprehensive Computer Course and Computer Appreciation Seminars; Marketing and Selling Skills; Seminar on Budget & Monetary
Policy; and Identification and Management of Problem Loans.

Similarly, Mr Bola
Oyebamiji attended series of workshops and conferences including the Directors Conference – 1st Line Consulting Ltd, held in United Kingdom in 2017;
the International Finance Conference at the London School of Economics in 2002; and
workshop on Fraud, Detection, Prevention and Control.

Hon. Bola Oyebamiji, the current Commissioner for Finance in State of Osun began his professional career at the International Banking Division, Wema Bank Plc in 1987, where he was an Assistant Manager. He later moved to Trans International Bank Plc, Ikeja Lagos State in 1998 as a Senior Manager where he rose to the
position of Head of Lagos Region as a Principal Manager in 2003. His thirst for more challenging roles and experience in 2005 led him to another career move to Spring Bank Plc, Adeola Odeku (Corporate Branch), Victoria Island Lagos as Head, Business Development and then, once again in 2009, moved to Enterprise Bank Ltd in Karimu Ikotun Street, Victoria Island, Lagos as Head of Retail Business.

His vast experience,
knowledge and love for his community and its development led to his appointment as the Managing Director/CEO of Osun State Investment Company Limited, Osogbo in 2012.

Mr Oyebamiji was at different times in his career saddled with various key positions
and responsibilities to include Director, Omoluabi Mortgage Bank Plc in 2017;

Director, Brent Mortgage Bank Plc in 2017; Director, Ikire Micro Finance Bank in 2008; Director, Imperial Bureau De-Change in 2006; Director, Roger Blue Petroleum, 406 Abeokuta Express Way, Abule Egba, Lagos State; Chairman, Irewole Local
Government IGR Committee in 2010; and Chairman, White Green Farm, Onireke Village, Ikire, Osun State since 1997 till date.

It is worthy of note that, as a successful banker and an immense contributor to the
financial world, he was honoured with series of awards including: Outstanding Deposit Performance Award in 2007, Excellent Performance Award in 2007,
Outstanding Branch Performance and Most Profitable Manager of the Year in 2004,
Half year Award for Outstanding Performance in 2001 and End of the Year
Commendation in 1999.

Honourable Bola Oyebamiji is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and
an aspirant for the Governorship seat in the State of Osun come September 22, 2018.

In 2012, under the current administration of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, he was appointed the Managing Director/CEO of Osun State Investment Company, a company established to contribute significantly to the economic development of theState through generation of profitable investment, creation of employment as well as enhancing the living standard of the citizenry. His great support for the currentadministration and his excellent performance at OSICOL led to his appointment as the current Commissioner for Finance in the State.

As a silent philanthropist, he has been at the background for numerous years
providing support and succour to communities, giving back to the society at all levels and partaking in human and community developments.

This has also led to his
appointment as executive member of different clubs to include Destiny Club, Ikire;

Ikire Progressive Union; Ikire Businessmen Club; Lagos Country Club, Lagos; Ikoyi Club; and Member GODI Management Health and Leisure Club, Surulere, Lagos. It is
worthy of note that in 2010, Oyebamiji won the Ikire day Award of Excellence.

Mr Oyebamiji has solid grasp of hot-button issues from various political standpoints,
and his emphasis on ethics, openness in government and approach to grassroots
mobilization shows his extensive knowledge of local and national politics, making
him one of the preferred candidates for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming September 22, 2018 Governorship election in the State of Osun.
