The Pan African Integrity Initiative Centre has honoured Dr. Atser with the NELSON MANDELA LEADERSHIP GOLD AWARD in humanitarian service for his contributions in Alleviating the suffering of the less Privileged in his community and beyond.
Speaking at the ceremony held in his office in Makurdi, Benue state, the leader of the delegations, who is also the country co-ordinator of the organisation Commend the examplary leadership style of Dr. Atser, leading from the front line, he said their findings show that the awardee has impacted on the lives of the less privileged around him as testimonies abounds,
Even from the number of persons that troop in to his Makurdi office alone in a day seeking for assistance is a testimony of his large heart.
It is based on this, that the organisation is encouraging him with this honour for him to do more and pray that he get to a higher public office in other for him to touch more lives of his people.
In his reaction Dr. Atser appreciated the Organisation and said that, right from his youthful days he has been involve in humanitarian gestures and singing a praise song to God that ‘he has decided to follow Jesus no turning back’ meaning he will continue in doing what God has called him to do.

“Personally I have made up my mind I will never, never in my life, disrespect anybody disrespect nobody because if you see a young man and you are disrespecting that person tomorrow he may become your saving grace “,
On this premise he has been living and doing all good work. He use the occasion to heap praise on His Excellency Gov. Samuel Ortom whom he said is the first leader, Governing the state with the fear of God in the history of Benue state.
The high light of the occasion was the presentation of the award and award certificate to Hon. Dr Mike Atser
