AGAIN, the ruling Peoples Democratic Party in Sokoto state lost out to opposition APC as Alhaji Ado Tambuwal, a die hard member and political associate of Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, tears the umbrella to pick the broom.
Ado who declared for the APC in Isa town, east of Sokoto state and home local government of former Governor Attahiru Dalhatu Bafarawa at the close of the zone’s guber rally Wednesday, was received along with Hon. Yusuf Abdullahi from Tangaza LG, Alhaji Ibrahim Sarkin Baki Sokoto, Mansur Abubakar Computer and Hon. Tsalha Turba from Isa LG respectively.
All APC chieftains which included the campaign council chairman, Muhaamadu Maigari Dingyadi, Ambassador A. Wurno, Sebatir Salihu Bakwai, former Deputy Governor, Chiso Abdullahi Dattijo, Alhaji Umaru Nagwari Tambuwal, Abubakar Shehu Tambuwal, Alhaji Aminu Tambari Tafida, Alhaji Tsalha Sidi Mamman, former speaker Sokoto state Houae of Assembly, Lawalli Labbo Margai, Senator Abdullahi Ibrahim Gobir, party candidates and leaders stormed the ancient town in euphoria to bury PDP.
Ado, a youthful politician with over 25, 400 followers said he had in the past wasted his time and resources to blindly follow the PDP” my worthiness and contributions went in vain and to the wrong platform. Today I decide to detach myself from its illusion and go with APC.”
He staked a total of N2m for picks in Tambuwal LG for presidential and gubernatorial levels elections for any ward that returned the highest votes as follows: “1st position N500; 2nd position, N300 and 3r position, N200.” respectively.
However, in his remarks, Northern Senators Forum Chairman, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko noted that APC issue based campaigns in the state was fast impacting.
According to the lawmaker” we are not attacking or abusing personality like the opposition PDP.”
Wamakko who represents Sokoto North Senatorial District in the senate emphatically noted that his predecessor,.former governor Attahitu Bafarawa thrives on three fundamental odds; liars, ego and treachery.
” All along he has been dwelling on them to politik. I want to point out that President Muhammadu Buhari and myself are God’s planned work. He and others cannot destroy God’s creation and will.
” We seek victory from God and money cannot buy Sokoto people’s conscience but respect and doing the needful in trust which are what we in APC are reaping from today.”
The gubernatorial candidate Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto represented by his running mate, Hon. Farouk Malami Yabo promised to restore LG adminstration dignity and respect in governance.
” We will run an inclusive government that will carry everyone along the way Wamakko ran government in the past”, he assured while acknowledging that the followership and support enjoyed by APC in the state was a testimony that the party and its candidate were on course for victory.
Similarly, the Campaign council DG and former Minister of Sports, Yusuf Suleiman, said anyone still in PDP is doomed, noting that the opposition party has no place in Isa town and the state.
According to Suleiman who was also a Minister for Transport” it was Wamakko who’s flesh made the PDP and our blood supported the party in 2007 to have life. Today we have drained our blood and Wamakko took his flesh and now the party is dead.
” Those in PDP are a bunch of deceipt which is their emblem. It they give you money collect and trace your loyalty to APC where your votes will be beneficial.
” The people of Sokoto state have lost alot in the last 3 years of Tambuwal government. Nothing positive came out of it. He paid us with enormous infrastructure deficit. Its time we reverse the ugly trend by injecting a government of hope, opportunities and prosperity to the NEXT LEVEL”, he urged.
The state party chairman, Alhaji Sadiq Isah Achida said some members of the opposition PDP got the opportunity of having followership but wasted it at a time when they needed same.
He described Wamakko as a pillar who had three basic advantages of people, sustaining and building them.
” He has succeeded in all. But the opposition are now finding it difficult to get them back. They have all ran to APC.”
Achida further disclosed that not less than six more commissioners were warming up to decamp to APC from Tambuwal’s government.
” You recall that on Tuesday, Barr Muhammad Bello Goronyo Commissioner for Information opened the gale of defection gate. We are optimistic that between now and next week more will turn in”, he assured.
Earlier, other speakers which include the LG party chairman, Alhaji Lawalli, Walin Isa said APC remain a party to beat in the state while assuring that the people of Isa would votev massively for Buhari and all other APC candidates.
