Need for ICAN to partner nation’s politicians, leadership stressed …As ICAN holds Gala Night

The need for accountants to partner the leadership of the country and politicians in order to enhance prudent management of the nation’s economic resources, has been stressed.
A chartered accountant Alhaji Adigun Kamoru who said this during the annual dinner and gala night of the Kaduna District and Society held at Hamdala Hotel recently, said, ‘There is the need for Accountants especially ICAN members to partner with politicians and the leadership of the country in order to enhance prudent management of the nation’s economic and resources .

Alhaji Adigun who expressed satisfaction with the successes achieved by the Kaduna District and Society under the current chairman also revealed that accountants being solution providers in all aspect of the nation should be deeply involved in fashioning out solutions to the numerous ills in our society.

The Chairman of Kaduna District and Society , Dallatu Abdullazeez FCA in his welcome address highlighted some of the impressive records of his district this year, which include, 40 Candidates from Kaduna District who sat for the ICAN exams, passed and successfully qualified as chartered accountants from the November 2018 Diet .

He also said that 10 candidates from his district also sat for the ATS exams and came out successfully .
Mr Abdullazeez also revealed that under the Special Student Program, ICAN and The New Nigeria Development Corporation , ( NNDC ) partnered to train candidates sitting for the ICAN Exams, adding, while the NNDC provided the venue and other facilities for the candidates , ICAN provided the technical supports cum lecturers .

He also said the Kaduna and District and Society held a technical session for members during the annual accountant’s week held in Kaduna .
The Kaduna District and Society Chairman also revealed that his District visited two orphanages – Blessed and Adonai Orphanages, and donated to orphans as part of its corporate social responsibility.

As the event progressed ,Dr Musa Danjuma of the Nigeria Institute of Trypanosomiasis Research was invited to deliver peptalk on health , highlighted the need for all, especially, accountants to be involved in light exercises such as jogging , walking in order to avoid heart related disease .
Other events included the raffle draws in which many gifts were given to winners of drawn numbers .The cultural band was at hand to dish out local music for the listening entertainment of invited guests. The event also climaxed with sumptuous cuisine of different showered on guests .
Special Recognition were given to some invited guests, among who are, Alhaji Umar Waziri , the Accountant General Of Kaduna State, (Special guest).
