1. Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency have arrested a blind 67-year-old man, Aliyu Adebiyi, in whose house they found 234 kilograms of Indian hemp at the Sokoto village, Owena Ijesa in Atakumosa East  of Osun State. Femi Babafemi said that the suspect, in his statement said a drug dealer kept the consignment with him for a fee of 6,000 naira per month and had paid three months upfront. Similarly, a leper, Haruna Abdullahi (45), was arrested at Garko town in Kano State and 2.2kilograms of Indian hemp and quantities of diazepam and Exol were recovered from him. DAILY TRUST

2. THE Presidential Campaign Council Of the Peoples Democratic Party, has asked the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission  to arrest and prosecute the Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu, in order to avoid worsening Nigeria’s already bad situation.  VANGUARD

Prince Benjamin Apugo, member of the All Progressive Congress, APC, and Board of Trustees has solicited support for the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi saying that his integrity, competence and proven track record of achievements have put him ahead of other contenders of the seat. 4. Vigilantes in Zuba town in the FCT have arrested a suspect, Bello Yellow, linked to the Abuja-Kaduna train attack. The suspect was arrested in the early hours of Sunday when he alighted from a car around Dan-Kogi Motor Park. The suspect was sighted by members of the Miyetti Allah Vigilantes. DAILY TRUST

5. Pakistan has suffered a nationwide power breakdown due to a fault in the national grid, with power cuts reported in major cities from Karachi, Quetta, Peshawar to Lahore. Supply to some areas has been suspended by up to 90 percent. The power breakdown follows a 2022  blighted by some of the worst flooding the country has seen. THE WEEK

6.Veteran Nollywood actress Eucharia Anunobi has said that those who constantly lament about Nigeria’s situation but don’t have Permanent Voters’ Card are antichrist. She said there are certain set of people that should be referred to as antichrist because of their deeds. 7. A Nigerian disc jockey who doubles as an actress Dorcas Fapson has accused her ex-boyfriend of stealing from her in the course of her relationship. She said she was drugged during her vacation to Zanzibar with Skiibii and his manager and woke up losing all her valuables. NAIJANEWS

8. The pro-separatist group, Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has suspended  Kingsley Kanu, younger brother of its leader Nnamdi Kanu from the group. The group accused the younger Kanu of indulging in a series of anti-IPOB activities with the aim of bringing the IPOB family in Germany to disrepute and by extension, disorganising the larger IPOB family worldwide. 9. Foreign minister of Germany,Annalena Baerbock says the country  would not stand in the way if Poland sends Leopard tanks to Ukraine.Germany is ready to authorise Poland to send German-made Leopard tanks to Ukraine to help Kyiv fight the Russian invasion if Warsaw makes such a request. ALJAZEERA
