1. Nigeria has fallen four places from 154 out of 180 countries and territories in the latest ranking of the 2022 Corruption Perceptions Index released by Transparency International on Tuesday. Although the country maintained its previous score of 24 out of 100 points in 2022, it fell to 150. CHANNELS

2. The All Progressives Congress, Presidential Campaign Council has dismissed the purported attack on President Muhammadu Buhari in Kano by the Peoples Democratic Party as the imagination of the opposition party. The campaign council described the report as fake news from a party that has lost touch with reality and suffering the agony of violating its own rules on power rotation. NATION

3. The Central Bank of Nigeria, Bauchi State, says it allocates 30 million new naira notes daily to each branch of banks in the state to increase access of customers to the new notes. An official of the apex bank, Abdulkadir Jibrin, while monitoring banks in Bauchi to ensure access to new naira notes for residents of the state said the aim of the exercise was to ensure the availability of the new naira notes in the banks and also for easy exchange of old notes for the newly redesigned notes for the residents. 4. The Independent National Electoral Commission has restored Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii as the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party for the March 11 poll. The Commission, in amendment number three to the final list of candidates for the election cited court orders for the restoration of Odii’s name. NATION

5. A nationwide strike is under way in France in a second wave of protests against President Emmanuel Macron’s plans to raise the retirement age from 62 to 64. Eight big unions are taking part in the strike, which is disrupting schools, public transport and oil refineries. BBC

6. Arsenal have agreed on a deal with Chelsea to sign Italy midfielder Jorginho. The 31-year-old, who joined Chelsea from Napoli in 2014, is into the final six months of his contract at Stamford Bridge. The Gunners turned their attention to Jorginho after having two bids rejected by Brighton for Moises Caicedo. NATION

7. Popular South African rapper, Genesis Gabriella Tina Manney, also known as Gigi Lamayne has publicly professed her love for famous Nigerian singer, Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, a.k.a Burna Boy. Gigi declared her love for Burna Boy in a post shared on her Twitter handle. DAILY POST

8. Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria, had said that the existing severe scarcity of newly introduced Naira notes in most banks across Nigeria is a huge threat to national security. The right group said the inefficiency and ineffectiveness of the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria is a pointer to why Nigeria needs an independent Governor of the Central Bank and not the politically tainted and compromised head that we have now.
