1. President Muhammadu Buhari has heartily congratulated the winner of the (2023) Presidential Election, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. This was contained in a statement by the Senior Special Assistant to the president on media and publicity, Garba Shehu. DAILY POST

2. The President Muhammadu Buhari and president-elect, Bola Tinubu, on Wednesday, asked the Peoples Democratic Party and Labour Party not to resort to violence but approach the court to seek redress over their claims that Saturday’s presidential election was marred by rigging. The opposition parties had during the collation of results called for the cancellation of the election and also asked the Independent National Electoral Commission Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu, to step down from his position over claims that the election was rigged in favour of the ruling party. But reacting to the claims in a statement on Wednesday, the President asked the opposition party to approach the court and prove their case. PUNCH

3. Flying Eagles defender, Solomon Agbalaka has been named in the CAF Best X1 of the 2023 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations group stage. Agbalaka is the only Flying Eagles player who made the selection. 4. Twitter CEO, Elon Musk has regained his title as the world’s richest man after briefly losing it to the LVMH French businessman, Bernard Arnault. Arnault, the CEO of the French luxury brand, Louis Vuitton, dethroned the Tesla boss, by edging him to the number two spot for more than two months. according to Bloomberg, a surge in Tesla stock has placed Musk back to the top of the Billionaires Index. Popular Nigerian comedian, Seyi Law, has issued an apology to his fans and supporters THAT HE offended THEM while campaigning for former Lagos State Governor, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in the run-up to the 2023 general elections.In a statement posted on his official social media handle, Seyi Law acknowledged that things may have gotten heated between people because of diverse opinions. He expressed his gratitude to fans who continue to support him.Seyi Law, who is known for his humor and lively personality, went on to state that he had learned some valuable lessons from the experience and was committed to using his platform for positive change and unity in the future. 6. The All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council has urged the presidential candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, and the Labour Party, Peter Obi, to accept defeat and congratulate Nigeria’s president-elect, Bola Tinubu. The APC PCC Media Adviser, Dele Alake, said this while condemning the LP and PDP for calling for the cancellation of the presidential election. PUNCH

7. Nigeria’s hip-hop giants; Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Davido have been named among the artistes to headline the 2023 Afro Nation concert in Portugal. The organisers, in a post shared across its social media handles, announced the three music heavyweights alongside 50 Cent, the US rapper, as its headliners. Afro Nation is an annual event celebrating Africans in the diaspora. The festival is arguably one of the biggest music concerts in the world. This year’s edition tagged ‘Phase Two’ is set to hold between July 28 and 30 at the Algarve Portimao in Portugal. VANGUARD

8. Nigerian comedian cum actor, Ayo Makun, popularly known as AY, has reacted to the defeat of the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, at the just concluded 2023 election. Naija News earlier reported that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the early hours of Wednesday, March 1, declared the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Tinubu, as the president-elect. Reacting via his Instagram page, AY said he is proud of Peter Obi, for giving many Nigerians courage, ambition, and plans for a better Nigeria. He urged the former governor of Anambra State to continue with his genuine intention for Nigeria adding he would not relent in his support for him. NAIJA NEWS

9. Just Fontaine, the all-time top scorer in a single World Cup finals with 13 goals, has died at the age of 89, his family told AFP on Wednesday. Fontaine achieved the record in the 1958 finals in Sweden where France reached the semi-finals for the first time in their history, losing to Pele’s Brazil. PUNCH

San Leon Energy Plc, an independent oil and gas production, development and exploration company focused on Nigeria, has reacted to recent speculation about the operation of the Oil Mining License (OML) 18. The company refutes an article published in Nigeria on 25 February 2023 that alleges that the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited has taken over the operatorship of the OML 18.
