The President Muhammadu Buhari and president-elect, Bola Tinubu, on Wednesday, asked the Peoples Democratic Party and Labour Party not to resort to violence but approach the court to seek redress over their claims that Saturday’s presidential election was marred by rigging. The opposition parties had during the collation of results called for the cancellation of the election and also asked the Independent National Electoral Commission Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu, to step down from his position over claims that the election was rigged in favour of the ruling party. 8. Nigerian comedian cum actor, Ayo Makun, popularly known as AY, has reacted to the defeat of the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, at the just concluded 2023 election. Naija News earlier reported that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the early hours of Wednesday, March 1, declared the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Tinubu, as the president-elect. Reacting via his Instagram page, AY said he is proud of Peter Obi, for giving many Nigerians courage, ambition, and plans for a better Nigeria.
