1. The Central Bank of Nigeria has disbursed N114.17bn to beneficiaries under its 100-for-100 Policy on Production and Productivity since the commencement of the intervention. This was disclosed in a communiqué issued by the CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele, after the last Monetary Policy Committee meeting held in Abuja. He stated that the funds were expended on 71 projects across healthcare, manufacturing and agriculture sectors. PUNCH

Stakeholders in the financial sector and banks are divided over re-issuance of the old naira notes following the Supreme Court judgement extending their legal tender status till December 31st 2023. While banks said they cant commence re-issuance of the old notes until they are directed to do so by the CBN, stakeholders including bank customers, financial analysts and business owners have called for immediate re-issuance of the old naira notes in compliance with the Supreme Court, Some banks’ officials who spoke to newsmen said the banks would comply once they get a directive from CBN. 6. Famous Nollywood actor and film director, Yul Edochie, has stated that the Igbo-speaking part of Nigeria has largely contributed to the growth of Lagos State. He said it was wrong to describe Lagos as no man’s land because the Yoruba people have been accommodating. Speaking in a post on his Instagram page on Saturday, the actor explained that it was well known that the Igbo, including other tribes, had also contributed to Lagos State. DAILY POST

Isa Mohammed Ashiru has called on the people of Kaduna State to prepare to go and vote on March 11, 2023, despite some of the challenges they encountered on February 25. 9. Tom Sizemore, a talented but troubled actor who made a career of playing tough guys, but struggled to stay on the right side of the law, has died at the age of 61. He suffered a brain aneurysm in February and on Friday was removed from life support, days after doctors concluded no more could be done for him, Charles Lago said. The actor worked with some of Hollywood’s biggest names over a decades-long career, but away from the screen he led a frequently troubled life, struggling with addiction and enduring spells in jail.
