Minaj delivered a keynote address at a United States Mission to the United Nations conference titled “Combating Religious Violence and the Killing of Christians in Nigeria.” During her speech, she condemned ongoing attacks in northern Nigeria and emphasized that no group should ever be persecuted because of their faith.

The address was delivered during a recent UN-side conference hosted by the U.S. Mission, bringing global attention to Nigeria’s escalating insecurity.

Nicki Minaj, a Grammy-winning artist, spoke alongside diplomats and advocacy groups pushing for international intervention. She also publicly thanked former U.S. President Donald Trump for “prioritizing the issue” and calling for urgent global action.

Nigeria continues to battle widespread violence from insurgent groups and armed bandits, with religious minorities—particularly Christians—reporting increased attacks. Minaj said her message was not political but rooted in justice, unity, and the protection of fundamental human rights.

Reaffirming her stance, Minaj said:

“I want to make it very clear, once again, that this isn’t about taking sides. This is about standing up in the face of injustice. It’s about what I’ve always stood for.”

She also expressed gratitude to Trump for drawing international attention to the killings, praising his “leadership on the global stage” in demanding protection for Christians in Nigeria and calling for stronger global action.

Minaj urged Nigerian authorities to intensify efforts to curb extremist violence. Trump, according to the address, has designated Nigeria a Country of Particular Concern (CPC), citing ongoing religious persecution and security failures.

As international voices grow louder, Minaj’s intervention adds celebrity influence to calls for urgent solutions to Nigeria’s worsening security crisis.
