NSCDC ARRESTS TSANGAYA TEACHER FOR MOLESTING A MINOR IN NIGER.

Niger state Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps NSCDC has arrested an Islamic teacher for molesting a minor in Suleja local government area of the state.

The tsangaya teacher Malam Nura Suleiman aged forty three was apprehended by officials of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps based on routine surveillance acting on credible intelligence for molesting his student Isah Muazu.

This is contained in a statement signed and issued to Newsmen in Minna by the Civil Defence Public Relations Officer Nasir Abdullahi.

He was arrested at the Tsangaya school located behind Niger Motel Suleja Niger State where the victim was rescued.

According to the statement the molested child Isah Mu’azu was rushed to General Hospital Suleja for urgent medical attention following the degrees of injuries observed in his body and was admitted base on magnitude of the injuries sustained.

Further investigation however revealed that, the children under the care of Malam Nura Suleiman are minors and vulnerably exposed to danger of been infected by communicable diseases.

It was also discovered that four other children
under the care of same Malam Nura Suleiman including the eight year old victim were natives of Kawo, Kaduna State.

The other four Children in his custody were also found with some scars on their back which could be evident that the said Malam Nura Suleiman has been molesting them.

Both the suspect and the victims were handed over to Child Rights Agency, Niger State for further investigation and possible prosecution.

Meanwhile the State Commandant NSCDC Niger State Command, Commandant Joanchin Okafor has  said that NSCDC under his watch will ensure maximum protection of children and warned other Malams to desist from molesting children under their care or face the full wrath of the law.
